Detectives from the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission have arrested former Meru Sports Executive Daniel Kiogora over forgery claims.
Mr Kiogora reportedly forged his University degree certificate that he used to apply for the work at the Meru County government and which showed that he graduated with second class upper division Bachelor of Commerce degree from the institution in 2010.
The University of Nairobi in May 2019 disowned Mr Kiogora’s degree after one of the MCAs sent an inquiry letter to the university seeking to establish the authenticity of his degree in February same year.
EACC Upper Eastern boss George Ojowi confirmed the Monday arrest of the officer.
He said the Director of Public Prosecution had after reviewing a file on the forgery claims, concurred with the Commission’s recommendations and approved the charges.
Mr Kiogora who is being held in Meru, will be arraigned before Meru Magistrate court Tuesday and charged with forgery, uttering, deceiving and providing false information.
