Ex-Isiolo North MP Joseph Samal has been charged with alleged incitement of communities against each other.
Mr Samal is said to have made the remarks on November 22, 2020 during a meeting in Ngaremara ward.
He was on Tuesday, hours after his arrest following an order by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission, charged with ethnic contempt contrary to NCIC Act.
Mr Samal denied the charges before Isiolo Chief Magistrate Samuel Mungai and was released on Sh100, 000 bond with one surety of similar amount.
The court also granted a request by the prosecution to have the former legislator keep off witnesses in the case.
Mr Mungai cautioned the accused against interfering with the witnesses and warned that doing so will result to cancellation of his bond.
The case will be mentioned on June 29, 2021 when the court will fix the hearing date.
