President Uhuru Kenyatta has reorganised his cabinet, 11 months to expiry of his second and final term.
Defence CS Monica Juma has replaced Energy counterpart Charles Keter who takes over as the Devolution CS.
Eugene Wamalwa will now head the Defence docket.
Others affected in the reshuffle include Principal Secretary of Public Works Rtd Gordon Kihalangwa who has been moved to Energy department while his docket taken over by Transport counterpart Solomon Kitungu.
PS Joseph Njoroge of Energy has replaced Mr Kitungu at the Transport department.
The Head of State reconstituted the Ministry of Public Service and Gender to Ministry of Public Service, Gender, Senior Citizens Affairs and Special Programmes to be still headed by Prof Margaret Kobia.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has been reconstituted and renamed as Ministry of Labour.
