As it is becoming the norm, Kenya Kwanza Alliance is holding one among its countless political rallies in Chuka town, Tharaka Nithi county.
To say the truth, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that but it begs several questions.
Why has Kenya Kwanza been concentrating its campaigns in what it has made everyone to perceive as their strongholds.
Politically speaking and with due respect, why is Ruto’s brigade so uncomfortable venturing outside purported support bases?
If as we are being told Tharaka-Nithi County is Kenya Kwanza and specifically UDA zone, why this craze about rally after rally by the same characters to talk about the same issues all the time?
What is really afoot such that hardly a week passes by without witnessing campaigners moving up and down with hecklers in tow?
What new agenda or ideas will these Kenya Kwanza politicians introduce when the official campaign period commences?
Unless I am proved otherwise, this is happening because the ground is not what Kenya Kwanza would wish voters within and outside TNC to believe.
I am on record stating that everything in excess, including political issues and politicians become stale overtime.
I can wager my wallet none of these politicians from Mt Kenya can venture into neighbouring counties, which also purport to be UDA strongholds and campaign for the alliance and make an impact.
The opposite applies, whereby UDA politicians from outside TNC cannot have any impact advancing the alliance’s agenda in TNC.
This observation is spot on because voters have realised that unlike Azimio Alliance, in the absence of William Ruto, Kenya Kwanza team is impotent in its campaigns.
On the other hand, Azimio Alliance leaders have proved beyond doubt that even when Raila is absent, they can attract and hold mega campaign rallies within and outside their strongholds.
The most plausible reason for this is because, Ruto has for a long period promoted himself as an alpha leader.
The problem with alpha factor is that other political animals become irrelevant, unless they settle for onlooker positions.
Another thing to note is that there is no cohesiveness in Kenya Kwanza Alliance counties’ brigades.
Whenever Ruto visits TNC for instance, he is always taken aback when leaders he had been made to believe are popular are heckled and made to eat humble pie in his presence.
Without a common approach and harmony among UDA leaders, TNC is easy prey to other local parties such as Bus, TPS, Jubilee, Narc-K and Independents.
Apologists for Kenya Kwanza Alliance and UDA party might not agree with me but truth be told, nationally, the same is happening.
Azimio la Umoja Coalition Alliance is far more organised, able to operate strategically and most importantly proactively.
Finally after being in the campaign since 2017, Ruto’s and his UDA cannot expect to add any more supporters in its political bag but can only lose some.
Azimio on the other hand is raiding outside its strongholds with such voracious appetite only those in denial cannot see it happening.
By and large, the official campaign is drawing near and thankfully it will commence with total clean up of the political terrain by the Registrar of Political Parties.
Of course the real battle for the presidency will climax with the leading presidential contenders presentation of nomination papers, together with running mate nominees to the IEBC.
I guess that is when what I am writing about will become crystal clear to those who are doubting my observations.
