A Form One student Friday drowned while trying to save a college student who slipped into Lake Baringo while on an excursion.
The 15-year-old was washing his clothes on the shores of the lake when he heard screams from students of a local college.
He immediately run towards the area and dived into the waters ready to save the student only to lose his life.
Kenya Red Cross divers and other rescuers managed to save the college student with the boy’s body recovered two days later.
Residents living within the lake have been asked to exercise caution.
