The embattled Tharaka Nithi Assembly Clerk Amos Kiangwe Sikweya has resigned under unclear circumstances even as MCAs, who resumed from December recess today, planned to oust him.
The resignation was read out by Speaker David John Mbaya during a plenary sitting in Kathwana that Kiangwe did not attend.
While most of the MCAs contacted refused to divulge information, it is believed the officer opted out to save himself from the embarassment.
“The fact that he resigned even before we presented the oust motion shows he is guilty of the issues we wanted to raise,” one of the MCAs told the Press Point.
