An autopsy on Brian Olunga, the security aide to Kimilili politician Brian Khaemba who was allegedly shot by Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, has revealed that he died from pistol bullet injuries.
Western Region pathologist Dr DM Muchana said the bullet stuck on the victims head causing massive bleeding that resulted to his death.
Mr Olunga was shot by the MP elect on Tuesday 9 in Chebukwabi village, Bungoma County.
Mr Barasa went into hiding after the incident before surrendering to Bungoma Police Station three days later and two days after the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Hajji ordered him to surrender to the nearest police station.
The MP is currently in police custody where he will remain for 10 days to allow completion of ongoing investigations before he is arraigned. Mr Barasa will likely face murder charges.
