Police in Mubere, Trans Nzoia have arrested a 51-year-old for being in possession of a homemade gun at his rental house.
The arrest of Robert Barasa Kiptein and recovery of the rifle capable of firing but with no bullets came following report by members of the public at Kimwondo Police Station.
An empty ammunition carrier typically used by armed services was also recovered at the scene.
The incident comes at a time when security agencies are making headway in recovering illegal arms with security operations being conducted in various parts of the country.
