Five people among them Logologo Senior Chief Kennedy Kongoman and his assistant were last evening killed in a banditry attack at Awaye area.
The five were on a mission to recover dozens of stolen livestock when they were attacked around 5pm Wednesday.
Their bodies were recovered Thursday morning stashed in two vehicles that they were traveling.
The whereabouts of 12 others including area MCA Bernard Leakono whose vehicle was found at the accident scene remain unknown.
Irate residents barricaded Logologo-Laisamis road protesting the attack.
A contingent of police officers has been deployed to quell tension in the area.
