Two detectives have been attacked by over 10 armed bandits and their rifles stolen in Garbatulla, Isiolo.

The two DCI officers were on surveillance mission when the 15 attackers armed with AK-47 rifles ambushed them, while riding on a motorbike, and ordered them to lie down as they ransacked them.

Police report made at Garbatulla station indicate that the incident happened on Isiolo road junction about four kilometres North of the station.

The two officers had Ceska and Jericho Pistols.

Manhunt for the attackers, who fled upon seeing an incoming bus from Modogashe, is ongoing as police seek to also recover the guns.

The motorcycle which the attackers had seized was recovered hidden in a nearby bush along road leading to Kambi Samaki.
