A man stabbed his wife to death yesterday morning at an entertainment joint in Naivasha, Nakuru County following a dispute over alleged failed reconciliation quest.
Reports indicate that the man, after committing the act, turned the killer weapon to himself aiming to take away his life.
The woman, identified as Veronica Wanjiru, had just reported at Club 8 in Maai Mahiu where she worked as a cleaner when the husband walked in and requested they settle a row that had occurred the previous night.
Workers at the joint said Veronica, who was busy cleaning the premises, refused to give the man an audience.
Furious, the man reached for a vegetable knife hidden in his pockets and stabbed her several times on the neck killing her on the spot.
He then turned the knife to himself and in a powerful thrust immersed it in his ribs in a bid to take away his life.
He however survived the self-inflicted injury and was rushed to Maai-Mahiu hospital where he is admitted in critical condition.
The suspect, will after discharge from the hospital, be charged with murder according to police sources.
