A suspected bank robber is nursing gunshot injuries at a Nairobi based hospital after he was injured while attempting to rob Equity bank’s Westlands branch.
The suspect, armed with a knife is said to have attacked two security officers guarding the premises and a customer leaving them with serious injuries.
Nairobi Region police boss James Mugera said the criminal had also invaded the bank manager’s office and demanded for some cash.
Police officers who rushed at the scene shot him twice in the stomach and on the shoulder immobilizing him before he was rushed for treatment.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that one of the guards is in a critical condition following the Tuesday morning attack.
