Outgoing Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has revealed that national KCPE and KCSE examinations will kick off on November 28 this year.
Speaking at Kerugoya Catholic Church grounds in Kirinyaga during the post-World Teachers Day celebrations, Prof Magoha said marking will be completed in December and examination results announced by January 23 next year.
He asked teachers who will be marking examinations to diligently do the work promising that their payments will be prompt.
He championed for the Competency Based Curriculum and lauded President William Ruto for setting up a task force to review the education system.
He observed that the government has invested heavily in CBC, adding that 10,000 CBC classrooms had been constructed nationally but the contractors were yet to be paid.
The CS said the money for the construction had been factored in the budget urging the government to release the funds so that the contractors could be paid.
