Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki has nominated Chuka University alumnas Maureen Nyambura as the Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism executive.
The youthful nominee who formerly served as Chuka University Students Organising Secretary graduated in 2019 and passionately campaigned for Governor Njuki and Maara MP Kareke Mbiuki.
In her online bio, Ms Nyambura describes herself as an ambitious and prayerful woman aspiring to make history.
The nominee previously worked as a supervisor at the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS).
Governor Njuki also picked Beatrice Kathomi, who unsuccessfully contested for Woman Rep seat in August 9 elections, to head Water and Irrigation docket.
Mr Lawrence Ireri Kweria is the new Finance executive while former Nominated MCA who lost in Speaker’s contest Muthini Karangi will be in charge of Public Adminstration and Inter-governmental coordination and Devolution Affairs.
Deputy Governor Wilson Nyaga Muisraeli will head Trade, Cooperative development, Industry, ICT and Energy dockets.
The Governor retained four of his executives including Engineer Julius Kijiru Giti of Lands, Physical planning, Roads and Infrastructure and Agriculture’s Njue Njagi.
Others are Health’s Dr Gichuiya Nthuraku and Ms Dorothy Igoki of Education, Vocational Training and Social Services.
Their vetting by the County Assembly will follow paving way for their swearing in.
