Barely a week after welcoming a lost girl, who was searching for her aunt, to her home, a young mother of two from Tharaka Nithi County is distraught for her act of kindness.
Like any other mother would have done, Ms Kawira Doreen allowed the girl into her house last Friday evening as was worried she could have lacked somewhere the spend the night at.
The girl, said to be Class Five pupil, was reportedly trying to locate her aunt who she claimed was living in Chuka.
The mother, the Press Point is aware, had even informed authorities of the girl’s presence at her home and that she would continue housing her until she located her kin.
And while she was planning to return the girl back to her parent’s home at Kianjai after being advised by one of the adminstrators following failed attempts to locate the aunt, she was not aware the pupil had an ill motive.
On Thursday, this week, the woman was shocked when she found her two children aged six and three, who she had left under the watch of the Class Five girl, missing.
According to an official who did not want to be named, the girl also walked away with some undisclosed amount of money.
All this happened while the mother, the Good Samaritan was away for work.
Police have since launched probe into the matter.
The family has made an appeal to the public to share with police any information on the whereabouts of the two children.
