Police in Nyeri are holding their male colleague over alleged defilement of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl.
The officer Silvester Kirwa stationed at Kiganjo police campus was arrested after an inquiry file linked him to the heinous incident.
The minor is a daughter of his female colleague who is also his neighbour at the college quarters.
The incident, according to police reports, happened on May 11, 2022.
“The inquiry file was forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions who recommended immediate arrest of the officer for defilement,” a police report read in part.
The suspect is detained at Kiganjo Police Station ahead of his arraignment tomorrow.
