The Gichugu constituency IEBC returning officer Geoffrey Gitobu who collapsed while driving and succumbed while being attended to at Nanyuki Cottage hospital died from a blood clot in the pulmonary vein, an autopsy has shown ending murder speculations.
The post-mortem done at the hospital by three pathologists showed that the IEBC official was anaemic even as reports indicated that his family had maintained that the 58-year-old had no life threatening ailments such as hypertension or diabetes.
Meanwhile Laikipia based detectives investigating the mysterious death revealed that more body tissues would be subjected to further analysis.
“The outcome of the investigations will help us establish if there was any foul play,” one of them said.
