Isiolo senate aspirant Nuh Mohammed Ibrahim has accused Senator Fatuma Dullo over what he termed as unfair job opportunities at her Isiolo and Nairobi offices.
Mr Nuh claimed the Senator’s office had over 20 vacancies and that Ms Dullo had employed less than 10 people majority of them ostensibly being her cronies.
“Employees at her offices in Nairobi and Isiolo are her close relatives and I have evidence to proof that,” he said.
The politician asked the vocal Senator to present her scorecard and tell Isiolo residents what she had done for them while as Nominated and elected MP.
“Mtu amekalia kiti miaka kumi hapaswi kupeana ahadi. Anapaswa kuleta scorecard yake ya maendeo loosely translated to someone who has been in power should not be giving promises but sharing development track record for analysis by the electorates,” said Mr Nuh.
He spoke during a meeting with Turkana professionals who promised to rally behind his bid.
The Turkana professionals from Burat and Ngaremara said the community had not benefited from Ms Dullo’s leadership citing land issues as among those she allegedly failed to address under her oversight role.
“Any incumbent leader who needs our support must explain to us what they have done for the community because we have many unemployed young people,” said Pastor Peter Lokoro said.
Promising to employ three Turkana youths at his office should he clinch the seat, Mr Nuh asked the professionals to support his bid and select their preferred leaders for the other elective seats.
“Kindly vote for me as your senator and pick the rest that you wish,” the businessman-cum-politician said.
Mr Nuh’s lineup comprises of former Governor Godana Doyo and former Speaker Mohammed Tupi seeking Isiolo South MP seat, Woman Rep Rehema Jaldesa and Isiolo North MP Hassan Odha.
He promised to lobby for road and water projects and employment opportunities for Isiolo residents in the national government agencies and parastatals for improved livelihoods.
The aspirant in a past interview revealed that he would embrace consultative approach while carrying out his oversight role for better service delivery.
“Leaders should amicably resolve issues and shun playing to the gallery. A senator does not necessarily have to be an enemy to the Governor to perform oversight,” he said.
Senator Dullo was unreachable for a comment over the recruitment claims.
