Police in Kwale are holding two men for stealing and slaughtering their neighbour’s cow at Kitsonga village.

Mr Nassir Hamisi Mwakazidi was shocked to find his cow missing at the shed yesterday morning and immediately mobilized friends who followed the footmarks to a neighbour’s homestead.

The owner of the homestead ran for his dear life on seeing the group approaching leaving behind one Hamisi Ndegwa Kambi who was reluctant to share information.

The villagers reported the matter to police who on arrival conducted a search at the home and found an animal carcass stashed in sacks.

The victim identified the carcass to be his from his stolen cow prompting arrest of the pair currently detained at Kiwi police station.

The pair will be arraigned in court to answer to charges relating to stealing stock.

The National Police Service has encouraged members of the public to continue sharing information with security officers in the spirit of community policing.
