A 60-year-old woman is fighting for her life at Kerugoya Referral Hospital after she was stabbed by her husband following a domestic tiff at Karinga village.
The row arose over Lilian Wanjira’s return to the matrimonial home after staying away since last November.
The husband, neighbours say, became furious after the wife refused to go back to where she had come from with both exchanging bitter words.
Mr Paul Wachira went for a kitchen knife that he used to stab the wife in the stomach but was rescued by villagers after her daughter raised an alarm.
The man then hanged himself on the house roof using a rope after the wife was rushed to hospital.
Couples have been asked to amicably solve their differences and shun resulting to violence.
