The Jubilee Party has settled on former Isiolo county Health chief officer Ibrahim Alio as its Mandera Senatorial flag bearer.
The aspirant will battle it out with Governor Ali Roba who has declared interest in the seat.
Mr Alio’s bid recently got a boost after Garre elders endorsed him to take over from incumbent Mohamed Maalim who has declared interest in gubernatorial seat.
Besides coming from Mandera’s largest Garre clan, Mr Alio hopes to ride on his achievements while in public and private service to clinch the seat.
At a past interview, the aspirant said his drive was prompted by desire to ensure prudent resource use for improved livelihoods.
His leadership if elected, he said, would focus on supporting residents economic activities for enhanced food security, spearheading peace efforts to harmonious coexistence and increased public participation on crucial matters such as development and decision making.
“I will besides the oversight, legislation and representation, also focus on empowering the less fortunate and marginalized in the community such as youth, women and persons living with disabilities,” Mr Alio said.
Before joining Governor Mohammed Kuti’s administration in 2018, Mr Alio was the Managing Director of Trojan International Limited and earlier worked with Save the Children UK among other companies and organisations.
He has a Masters degree in Supply Logistics and Procurement Management and degree in Agribusiness from Egerton University.
