Two people were Tuesday evening killed and five badly injured in a bandit attack between Bubisa and Turbi in Marsabit.
The Probox vehicle, that the seven were traveling in towards Sololo, was sprayed with bullets killing the two on the spot.
The driver is among those who were injured and currently hospitalised at Sololo Mission Hospital.
Marsabit County police boss Paul Rotich said police officers had been deployed to the area to help in hunting down the assailants.
He said investigations were underway to establish the motive of the attack.
Over eight people were two weeks ago injured in a banditry attack within Segel area in the same county.
The victims, including a police officer who was providing escort, were traveling in three Land Cruiser vehicles when the attackers started firing indiscriminately towards the vehicles injuring them.
Over 20 people have been killed in banditry attacks in the county since last December’s killing of 12 in separate attacks across villages in Saku constituency.
