A man in Gatanga, Murang’a has shocked Kihumbuini residents after he killed his four-month-old child over suspicion that the boy was not his.
A 23-year-old Mark Njuguna reportedly dropped the child on concrete floor killing him on the spot before warning the wife of dire consequences if she revealed what had transpired.
Worried of the repercussions, his wife Mary Muthoni sneaked to her father-in-law’s home and informed him of the incident and he later alerted police, a report seen by The Press Point shows.
Police officers visited the home and arrested the suspect who allegedly claimed he was not the biological father of the child.
Mr Njuguna is detained at Kihumbuini Police Station as investigations into the matter continue.
The boy’s body was moved to General Kago Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
