A good samaritan from Isiolo County has donated 40 water buckets for hand washing in bid to boost the county’s fight against spread of Coronavirus.

Cypriano Mwenda and his son, who hail from Bulapesa, on Friday handed over the buckets to Governor Mohamed Kuti outside County Commissioner’s office in Isiolo town for distribution to families in remote areas.

The donation comes a day after Governor Kuti received (12) 10,000 litre tanks from the British Army Training Unit Kenya for hand washing even as residents continue to mount pressure on him over utilization of sh40 million set aside for management and control of Covid-19.

Local residents and MPs have castigated the county government for inadequate public education, not distributing sanitizers as earlier promised and for watching as residents continue to wallow in hunger.

“Can the Governor wake up and make sure Isiolo county is protected from Coronavirus. We want to see the Sh40 million for emergency used to benefit lives of our people,” said Senator Fatuma Dullo.

Nominated Senator Abshiro Halake said the county should have rolled out a food distribution program adding “It is about time people of Isiolo, who have suffered so much, get what they deserve”
