The State has closed the file for embattled FKF President Nick Mwendwa accused of embezzling public funds without preferring charges against him.
The prosecution had been given one week to prefer charges against Mr Mwendwa but on Thursday, when the matter came for mention, said it wished to close the file pending further probe.
“We seek to close the file for now as we continue with investigations before we prefer charges against him,” State prosecutor Everlyn Onunga said before Milimani Court.
Senior Principal Magistrate Wandia Nyamu allowed the DPP request to close the miscellenous file.
This sets FKF boss free as he awaits next step by Prosecution in the underway investigations over corruption allegations.
The Magistrate ordered Sh4 million cash bail deposited in court be refunded to Mr Mwendwa immediately.
