The 14-year-old Mandera boy who was covered in a mattress doused in petrol before being set ablaze by his elder brothers has succumbed to burn injuries at Mandera Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The Class Seven pupil at Kamor Primary School who was rescued by police officers gave up the ghost around 2am on Wednesday morning.
The boy’s father Father Abdullahi Hassan is yet to come to terms with the death.
The suspects feared the younger brother could testify against one of them accused of stealing a mobile phone.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations announced the arrest of Yusuf Ahmed,17, and Ibrahim Ahmed, 20, who are currently being interrogated at Mandera Police Station ahead of their arraignment for murder charges.
