A family in Kirinyaga is yet to come to terms with the death of their kin who torched his house and dug own grave before committing suicide
The 48-year-old Joel Muthike, who broke up with his wife about 20 years ago, hanged himself on a Mango tree with a rope in Rwathia village.
Family members and residents were shocked to find his body dangling on the tree.
It is suspected he could have suffered depression as lived a lone life, his family revealed.
“We will bury him in the grave he had dug which we believe is where he wished to be buried,” deceased’s brother Elias Murimi said.
Investigations into the incident have been commenced.
