Covid-19 vaccination exercise in Isiolo has stalled following depletion of the vaccines.
Health Chief Officer Ibrahim Alio said 3, 165 locals had so far received their first doses with the number decreasing to 1, 896 for those who had gone for their second doses.
The county has so far received 5, 160 doses with the majority of those vaccinated being males.
Demand for the jab has been high in the past weeks as civil servants rushed to beat the August 23 deadline provided by the Head of Public Service.
“We have used all the vaccines we had received and are waiting for more doses,” said Mr Alio.
Two Covid-19 patients who were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at the County Referral Hospital succumbed in the last three days.
Four patients, who were part of the 13 admitted at the ICU, have already been discharged after recovery leaving behind seven patients.
Twenty-four (24) others are on Home-based care.
Meanwhile, only two percent of Kenyans have so far received full vaccination with the Ministry of Health announcing plans to reach out to second dose defaulters through Community Health Volunteers.
