A 45-year-old man was last night killed by a bar owner in Kagumo town, Kirinyaga an altercation over Sh2000 beer bill.

A disagreement arose when the bar owner accused the customer identified as Mark Karimi of having not paid the bill which the deceased insisted that he had.

It’s then that the proprietor took a knife and stabbed him on the chest leaving him bleeding profusely. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

Following the incident, angry residents stormed the bar and destroyed properties as they bayed for culprit’s blood.

Police reports indicate that the assailant was arrested on Saturday and is held at Kerugoya Police station awaiting arraignment on Monday.
