MPs are set to consider nomination of Justice Martha Koome as the Chief Justice during a special sitting today.

The National Assembly will either approve or reject the nominee who was endorsed by the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee after her vetting last week.

If approved, the Court of Appeal judge will become the first woman CJ and third since promulgation of the new constitution in 2010.
