A mother of girls from Siaya County wants action taken against her in-laws for allegedly evicting her from her late husband’s piece of land for failure to give birth to boys.

The 34-year-old Winnie Atieno whose husband died about 10 years ago accused the husband’s relatives of selling her two-acre piece of land leaving her with nothing to support her children who she said depended on the farm’s produce.

She said that conflicts began when she developed health complications that contributed to her incapability to continue supporting her mother in-law, prompting the siblings to label her useless in the family.

They would later accuse her of burning the mother’s house before throwing her out of the piece of land.

Her efforts to seek help from local administrators bore no fruit as the area assistant chief kept blaming her for being impatient.

She now calls upon leaders and well wishers to come to her rescue and ensure she gets justice.
