Police in Meru are investigating a case where a female prison warder was drugged and sexually assaulted at Makutano area last weekend.
Police reports indicate that the 26-year-old female officer was on her way to Magunas Supermarket for shopping when she was intoxicated only to later regain her memory while naked in a locked lodging.
She was rescued by the lodging management after raising alarm.
The incident happened on April 24 around 5PM in the evening and was reported at Meru Police Station vide OB NO 40/26/4/2021
An examination at a hospital in Meru town established that the officer was raped.
Police have since launched investigations into the matter to bring to book the culprits.
