Isiolo County Commissioner Herman Shambi has dismissed claims that a body has been discovered at Mwangaza area in Wabera ward terming them mere rumours.
The information was shared on several social media platforms spreading fear and panic and is feared could stir tension and reignite clashes witnessed in the last four days following the killing of a bodaboda rider on claims that he had stolen motorcycle spare parts.
Mr Shambi has asked residents to desist from sharing misleading information and unconfirmed reports likely to cause a security scare.
“I continue to appeal to everyone to desist propagating propaganda and rumours as they could easily cause a security scare. The claims being circulated online are just rumours,” Mr Shambi said.
