An Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission official based at Tiaty Constituency office in Baringo County who went missing on Tuesday has been found dead.
Brian Silale, the IEBC Tiaty Administrative Assistant, was reportedly picked by unknown persons while in the company of five other people at Chemolingot shopping center around 3pm.
He was later killed under unclear circumstances and his body together with the others recovered on Wednesday at Arabal, Mukutani ward in Baringo South.
While confirming the incident, IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati condemned the killing and asked government agencies to probe the matter and ensure the perpetrators are arrested.
“The Commission strongly condemns the heinous murder of our staff and calls upon the relevant government agencies to expeditiously investigate the incident with a view to bringing the culprits to book,” Mr Chebukati said in a press release also shared on IEBC Twitter handle.
The IEBC boss condoled with Mr Silale’s family and that of the other victims.
